and it's something that i cannot take for granted because where i was born, and where i grew up, we did not have it. and what i was thinking about last night as i was thinking about today, i was thinking about the image, the very vivid image that still sticks in my head about how i came here. and i think about my mom, my two sisters and me. literally walking, climbing mountains, crossing the border, carrying my little sister. make sure i do not fall off the cliff of making sure my mom was safe. and i remember that dark night, when you are cold and trying to get through, you see the lights in the city on the other side of the border.
